Voiceover exceeding 140 to 150 words per minute is hard to follow, but if you drop below 140 words per minute the course comes off as dry and boring.

Learners stay more engaged if you have an interactive break every five to seven minutes. You don’t want to exceed 10 minutes of video without a break.

Images or video scenes should be changing roughly every 15 to 30 seconds to keep people’s attention and help prevent the material from feeling stale.

What to Expect

Steps in the development process

1 – Discovery Meeting

The first step of the course development process is to have a meeting and discuss your needs. We will work with you to ensure we understand exactly what you have envisioned for your course or orientation. This is the stage where we will discuss what materials you already own (e.g. photos, pre-shot video, etc.) and what needs to be created by our team.

2 – Initial Quote

After the discovery meeting, our team will put together an official quote and send it for your review. All costs are kept transparent and we are happy to discuss the project more after submitting the quote.

3 – Script Development

Our team of writers and editors can bring your script to life. Once they know your vision, they will work closely with your team to craft a great script that will be the basis for the entire project.

4 – Voice-over

Once we have the script developed and approved, our team will send you a selection of voice-over samples. You let us know which style of voice-over will work best for your course or orientation and we will coordinate the voice actor to record your script.

5 – Storyboard Development

Our team will create a storyboard for any video or photography and review it with you before getting started on the production. We pride ourselves on being efficient and producing high-quality content. The storyboard plays a large role in ensuring the production runs smoothly.

6 – Film/Photo Shoot

Our development team is happy to shoot either video, photography, or both for your project. We will work with you to coordinate a location for the shoot and ensure we have everything we need to make it a smooth process. We are confident you will be thrilled with the quality of the production.

7 – Graphics & Editing

Your project may require motion graphics and animations. We have a dedicated team of motion graphics designers who will help bring your course or orientation to life with custom creations. We will then edit the graphics, video/photos, text, and voice-over into a draft for you to review.

8 – Your Review

You will be involved in providing feedback at virtually every level of the development process, but the final reviews are your chance to view the course or orientation in its entirety. Our team will then be available to make any necessary changes to make sure the finished product is exactly what you were hoping for.

9 – Finished Course

The final step of our development process is to provide you with the finished course. Now you are ready to train your team or distribute your course for retail sale. You have full ownership of all of the material we produce on your behalf including, video, photos, scripts, and graphics. We never hold your course hostage or force you to come to us for changes or updates.
