Improve the safety of your team by using the lone worker tool to keep everyone in touch, no matter where they are working.

With the Lone Worker feature, users can now establish regular check-ins with a designated user within the system. These workers can set a check-in time interval and when the timer reaches zero, they receive an alert to check in using SafeTapp. If they do not check in, contact(s) who the lone worker designates will receive an email, text message, and/or SafeTapp push notification. If necessary, the interval automatically resets to ensure continuous monitoring until the user decides to end the working alone session by tapping “Done Working Alone”.

We understand that each worker’s needs may vary, so we’ve added the option for lone workers to set their own check-in intervals, making the process even more customizable and convenient for them. Elements like this and more will make the Lone Worker Feature a must-use item for many industries.

How It Helps

The purpose of this feature is to allow workers who are working alone in potentially hazardous environments to use the Lone Worker feature in BIS Safety App to periodically check in with a crew member, team lead, supervisor, etc. to let them know they are safe. Using this new feature within our mobile safety app can ensure improved protection and peace of mind. The process is as simple as:

Accessing the Working Alone Option from BIS Safety App
Setting up check-ins with designated users at your own pace
Receiving reminders and updates at your chosen interval
Send updates and end the Lone Worker Feature when finished

Company Settings

The Lone Worker feature can be enabled by companies during a trial period, allowing them to evaluate its functionality. It can be turned on or off by Client Admins, who also have the ability to customize its settings according to their specific requirements.

When disabling the Lone Worker feature, a pop-up reminder appears, informing the Admins that SafeTapp users will no longer be able to periodically check in to indicate their safety. However, the system retains and restores the previously saved Lone Worker settings for each user when the feature is re-enabled.

Utilizing Lone Worker Feature with BIS Safety App

BIS Safety App is a mobile safety app that takes the BIStrainer experience onto your mobile devices. The Lone Worker feature works perfectly with this app, and together they offer various features to support health and safety objectives. Users can access their training certificates, safety forms, company policies, and procedures through the app. BIS Safety App allows users to store and download training certificates on their smartphones or tablets. It syncs with the BIStrainer system to ensure up-to-date and accurate records.

Users can also create digital forms, access cloud storage folders for important documents, and customize the app with their company branding. BIS Safety App is available for free and is compatible with iOS and Android devices.

Check-in Schedules

Check-in intervals can be standardized to create a ongoing schedule of updates and safety checks when regularly working alone, eliminating the need for additional set-up every time.

Customize your Needs

When it is turned on from the System Modules section, Client Admins can customize their features in the BIS Safety App Settings section to match their specific needs to the software.

Designate Contacts

Designated contacts and location managers with a verified email are able to receive emails and text messages. If the timer elapses or even if the workers device loses Wi-Fi, an alert will be sent.

Certain users and Location Managers are notified if lone workers do not check-in or if they request help.

Custom Response Times

Client Admins may set a maximum response time in minutes using the Response Time toggle to make sure their employees dutiful and safe.

Optional Notifications

Client Admins can enable two notifications: Lone Worker Start/Finish and Check-in. The former alerts contacts when lone workers begin or finish their shifts, while the latter notifies contacts during check-ins.

Receive Reminders and Updates at your Chosen Intervals

Lone workers must set check-in intervals, and when those timers reach zero, they receive an alert to check-in using the Lone Worker feature through BIS Safety App.

Send Updates and End the Lone Worker Feature when Finished

If they do not check in, designated contact(s) of the lone worker will receive an email, text message, and/or BIS Safety App push notification informing them about the potential situation.
